Matterhorn's beach has moved from Fort Clarence Beach to a new venue in Negril, but that
didn't stop the mental from flattening the place at this annual juggling war and stage
show affair. In fact Matterhorn unleashed on just about everyone and every sound,
including the police officer who escorted him off stage when he got hype and started to
use profanity to get his point accross. The result? He returns to the stage
with a vengence and flattens the beach as he took the crowd way back to Fully Loaded #1
and came straight up back, unleashing anthem after anthem along the way!!
Renaissance also performs and as usual buss the crowd with their Hip Hop-Reggae flava
punctuated with a few exclusive remixes of course! Then live on stage: Elephant Man,
Bounty Killer, Vybez Cartel, Wayne Marshall, Predator, Kip Rich, Kid Kurrupt, Queen Paula

*MORTAL KOMBAT 2K3 (QUEENS) <Killamanjaro with Freddy at the helms returned
to the New York clash scene with a vengence to unleashed his pent up fury on Bass Odyssey
(led by Skinny) at the MORTAL KOMBAT
2K3 CLASH in Dubies Palace, Queens,
NYC! Put on by Killa Mari Promotions and M & M Promotions, this clash was billed
as a one on one old fashion Biltmore-style brawl - something that the clash arena has not
seen in it's true form in quite some time. With a shakey 2002 record and noticeably
absent from WORLD CLASH 2002, many wondered if Killamanjaro was still a force to
be reckoned with. That question would be unequivocally answered! Squingy, Bass
Odyssey's head honco - was not present to defend the one rack warhead. Instead,
Skinny (accompanied by DJ Mark) came in his place. In a clash that Jaro pretty much
dominated from the start, Freddy selected with confidence, and his speech was on point.
Evidence of some serious new tune cutting was apparent, but Freddy did not hesitate
to unleash the Tenor Saws and Super Cat anthems either. Skinny from Bass Odyssey
(Squingy's protege') gave it a good run, but early into the clash proved he might be too
inexperienced to handle Jaro on this particular night. A straight up duel to the Dub
Fi Dub, each selector had something to prove - an opportnity to come from under their
teacher's shadow - and they hesitated no time to prove it. Was Skinny able to fill
Squingy's shoes and overcome the highest mountain, or did Freddy convince Jaro fans that
he can bring Jaro back to the glory days of former selector Ricky Trooper? A Must

GLOBAL CUP CLASH 2K2
(QUEENS) <We promised to deliver it and after
months of waiting we are finally the first online to have it!!! Andrew Digital in
association with Future Vibes brings to Club Amazura in Queens, New York City a "one
of a kind" clash that promised to bring the sound clash business back to the basics!!
Imagine this setup: "Eight tickets are placed in a bag (2 labelled
"1", 2 labelled "2", 2 labelled "3", and 2 labelled
"4"). Eight warhead sounds choose from the bag and the pairs that come up
with the same number will battle it out (thus 4 "mini clashes") in Round 1 - a
15 minute "sudden-death" round. The four winners will advance to Round 2
and the 4 losers will immediately be eliminated from the clash!! In Round 2 the
remaining 4 sounds will again be divided into 2 groups (thus 2 "mini clashes"),
and will war again in another 15 minute "sudden-death" round. The two
winners from this round will then advance to the Final Round, with NO RULES, NO REFEREES,
AND NO TIMEKEEPING - setting the stage for a Biltmore-type one on one death match!!
The official line-up of this mega clash included Black Kat (the GLOBAL CUP CLASH 2001
Champs), Bass Odyssey (the seasoned one rack warheads and WORLD CLASH 2001
Champs), Mighty Crown (WORLD CLASH 1999 Champs), King Agony (NYC's "new" war
representatives), Earthruler (the BILTMORE CUP
CLASH 2002 Champs), Poison Dart (the Antiguan assassins), Madd Squad (Mobay's finest
formely of Pieces), and Desert Storm (a Canadian heavyweight sound looking to make a
statement in the international clash arena)!! Bass Odyssey and Madd Squad didn't
make it which led to some modifications to the clash, but at the end of the night it all
boiled down to WAR, WAR, WAR!!!! Many say Earthruler (who only recently returned to
the clash arena) gave the best performance of the clash. Dessert Storm also got
props as the "sound to watch". Mighty Crown and Black Kat, on the
other hand, was said to have given a sub-standard performance. And what of King
Agony and Antigua's Poison Dart??? We can't tell you everythjing! Listen to

always its surprises on top of surprises as the best of the best in the juggling arena

Renaissance, One Love Hi Pawa outta Italy, Metromedia, Black Chiney, DJ Khalid, Left Side
& Esco, Vendetta, and outta the US Ecstacy from New Jersey and Concord from the Bronx!
Hosted by ace deejay Spragga Benz and radio personalities Barry G and Nuffy, live
entertainers that were there to represent included Hip Hop and R&B acts Jah Rule and
Ashant outta Murder Inc, Bounty Killer, Wayne Marshall, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Bling
Dawg, Roundhead, Lady Saw, Zumjay, Wickerman & Captain Barkey, Real Ediat, Bentley Kid
& Essence, Mickey Pelpa, Serial Killer, and more!! Fan violence erupted,
preventing annual heavyweights Tony Matterhorn and Renaissance from flattening the beach
as they usually would!! But that was not a problem since Black Chiney and Skyjuice
of Metromedia more than flatten their share oif the event, with Chiney playing dubplates
calling Sharon Burke (the promoter of Fully Loaded ) name in it! Matterhorn may own the
beach at Fully Loaded, but as Bobby Chin of Black Chiney aptly put it, they pay rent!!!!!!

(BKLYN) <The year's biggest
foundation clash thus far takes place in Club Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York!!!!
Downbeat, Saxon, Killamanjaro, and Bodyguard meet up for a musical showcase of big tunes!!
Each sound seems evenly matched. Downbeat with Tony Screw at the control is New York
City's ruling foundation sound, a title they have never given up. Screw has one of
the most exclusive dub box in the business - a combination of hardcore dubs as well as
exclusive 45s you can't find anywhere - and always seems to keep up to date on the big
tunes of the day (Beres, etc). Saxon has long been England's forerunner when it
comes to the line of foundation tunes. Their box is easily one of the deepest in the
business, and they are no stranger to Nitty Gritty or Tenor Saw, which they have a habit
of unleashing when you least expect it! Killamanjaro has been killing sounds for
years with foundation dubs cut by Jeremy Lee, Mr. Harper, etc, and their Tenor Saws and
Nitty Grittys world renown! Bodyguard has long been a force to be reckoned with, and
has boasted some of the biggest tunes in the business, including the Jimmy Cliff
exclusive, "Many Rivers to Cross". Imagine these four foundation power
houses going at it in a gruelsome 3 hour clash that culminates in a 4-way Dub Fi Dub!!!

(JA) <Irish &
Chin's Jamaican version of WORLD CLASH goes into it's second year at Pier One in Montego Bay, but not without it's
share of controversy! On the roster this year were Bass Odyssey representing
Jamaica, Matterhorn representing the US, Mighty Crown representing Japan, and David
Rodigan representing the UK. This clash was interesting to say the least, because it
seemed to combine so many elements: WORLD CLASH
2001 Champions Bass Odyssey
and second seed Mighty Crown were caught up in a rematch of their meeting in New York at FACE OFF 2K2 - THE SETTLEMENT;
simultaneously, Matterhorn was caught up in himself, trying to gain some ground after
cooling off the clash scene for a couple of months; meanwhile, David Rodigan just seemed
to be playing his heart out to prove that he is still a force to be reckoned with!!
As it turned out, while Odyssey and Crown had their backs turned busy dealing with one
another, Matterhorn stepped up and changed the course of the clash, alas a controversial
result!!!! Like it, love it, or dismiss it.. don't make your decision as to the outcome

DELANO'S REVENGE VII (JA) <It's
Renaissance's big dawg Delano's annual event and as one would expect, it was a musical
extravaganza! Once again the venue was the Caymanas Polo Club, and the musical vibes
were provided by Renaissance (of course), Tony Matterhorn (who flattens the place with his
anthems as well as some new tunes!!), Metromedia (who bun a short but wicked fire when
Skyjuice takes off his shirt and shows the crowd his version of the new dances), Kurt
Riley, and the Asylum DJs. Nuff sexy girls are in the place posing off in their
outfits while showing off tatoos as the rude bwoys buss the latest dances including the
LOY, Jerry Springer, and Log On!! Of course no Revenge would be complete without the live
artists segment, and this year the stage was graced by the likes of Bounty Killer, Wayne
Marshall, Bling Dawg, Spragga Benz, Richie Stevens, Tony Curtis, and Canadian Rapper

*HELL OF A WAR (JA) <The eternal
feud between Panther and Ricky Trooper enters yet another chapter as Jerms Dawg Promotions
presents an all out match between the war tanka and the long anticipated Sound Trooper.
The warfield was the infamous Deeside, Trelawny, and as expected it was straight up
explosive combat!! Black Kat has had a good year, taking RUMORS OF WAR 2001 in Jamaica and GLOBAL CUIP CLASH 2001 in New York,
and although Panther failed to seal the trophy at WORLD
CLASH 2001, they did pop off some stripes off of several
sounds this year! Trooper on the other hand has been a bit dormant since his last
New York clash (SURVIVOR 2001), and in many clash fans' eyes still has a lot to prove where the
clashing abilities of Sound Troopers is concerned. This was Trooper's first clash
using his physical sound system, and he seemed to be on top of his game as he unleashed
dubs upon dubs (counteractions galore) punctuated by wicked speech (which including
dissing Irish & Chin, Internet message boards, etc)!! Amidst technical
difficulties Kat strugged all night to catch back Trooper's performance, but as we all
know Panther does not give up. At the end of the night a sound get lock off!! A Must

*THE WICKED WARRIORS (JA) <A champion's
job is never done!! WORLD CLASH 2001 Champions Bass Odyssey (now referred to as "Bulletproof") is
called on by Real Damage Promotions to show what they've got against the infamous Mr. Hype
himself, Fire Links. The war took place in Chimney Lawn, Cave Valley, St Ann, and as
expected it was an all out battle between the first-time Jamaica-America World Champions,
and the Fireman who is always capable of inflicting damage on the most formidable of
foes!!! However, it's Bass Odyssey's backyard, and when Squingy commences to flatten
the place, Fire Links resorted to playing 45s and Hip Hop in the middle of the clash to
get his forwards!! When Squingy turned up the fire again and had the place inna heat,
Links interrupterd Bass Odyssey's round, to which Squingy responded by threatening to walk
out with the patrons. Things escalated and an altercation ensued, prematurely ending

*FIRE LINKS SOUND LAUNCHING (JA) <Almost two
years since he departed the legendary Bodyguard to venture on his own, the Fireman Fire
Links keeps his official sound launching bash at La Roose and the Immortal Stone Love
alongside year to year sound Metromedia are on hand to help provide the musical vibes!! Of
course no event Fire Links throws would be complete without the presence of his icon
deejay - Capleton!!! The prophet passes through to vibes of the place, accompanied
by hot new culture deejay Warrior King and veteran crowd pleaser Frisco Kid!! Nuff

WORLD CLASH 2001 (QUEENS) <In a decision that took
approximately half hour to decide, the WORLD CLASH 2001
TROPHY was awarded amidst controversy in one of the most grueling
WORLD CLASHES ever witnessed!!! With unconventional rules such as "One No
Cursing Round", and "One 45 ONLY Round", it seemed more like a stage show
than a WORLD CLASH!!!
Every sound was called upon to defend their Trophy won in recent major clashes
year, and though defending WORLD CLASH 2000 Champion Killamanjaro was a "no show", the line up was still
enough to make for a death-match with sounds like: Bass Odyssey outta St. Ann (DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2001 Champs),
Black Kat outta St. Elizabeth (RUMOURS OF WAR 2001 and GLOBAL CUP CLASH 2001 Champs), Poison Dart representing Antigua (ANTIGUAN
WORLD CLASH Champs), King Tubbys from the UK (EUROPEAN WORLD CLASH 2001 Champs), and
Mighty Crown (WORLD CLASH 1999 Champs). Prince TuFFiE, Cassette
Face, and the Jamworld Music FrEaK Family was on hand to take in the action as the sounds
warred it out for the coveted WORLD CLASH TROPHY!! Punctuated between rounds by wicked performances from the Warlord
himself Bounty Killer (Big Up!!), at no point in time did any sound clearly have the
lead!! When the clash boiled down to the nitty gritty, all was eliminated except
two, and an extra Dud Fi Dub Round had to be added - which itself lent to the controversy

Champs Killamanjaro go head to head in a three way war with WORLD

stakes are high as everyone has something to gain, and something to lose: Killamanjaro
struggles with their inconsistency and tries once again to prove that they are still the

(JA) <When it comes to hardcore sound clashes, Irish & Chin have made a name for
themselves in New York and Washington DC!! This year Irish and Chin invaded Jamaica, and
(for the third time) has brought a mega multi-sound clash to the island!! Picture Bass
Odyssey (DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2001 Champs), Black Kat
(GLOBAL CUP CLASH 2001 Champs), and Mighty Crown (WORLD CLASH 1999 Champs) on one battle ground fighting to
settle all previous scores!! Needless to say big tunes and big talk fly left and right as

WORLD CLASH @ ANTIGUA 2001 (ANTIGUA) <Its only in its second year and Antigua's
annual World Clash boasted a line up as impressive as any big name clash. This year
the bill was truly international, featuring Mighty Crown (Japan) vs Fire Links (Jamaica)
vs Tony Matterhorn (USA) vs Poison Dart (local sound outta Antigua) vs Stereo Choice
(Guyana)! The clash was filled with suprises and controversy!! Amidst Stereo Choice
being clapped out in the second round, a luck lustre performance from Fire Links, and a
strong effort by Matterhorn and Mighty Crown, sources say that local heavyweight Poison
Dart was awarded the trophy!! Was this a bias dance, a mistake, or did they truly defeat

<Irish & Chin's Easter Rampage continued into Monday as Mighty Crown and Matterhorn
were brought back again to face the likes of Bass Odyssey (in an attempt to regain their
clash momentum) and Rodigan (the dub plate assasin from UK). The battlefield was
Twin City Lawn, Deeside, Trelawny, and the stakes were high! Everybody knows
Trelawny is Bass Odyssey's next hometown (St. Ann being the first) but to win this clash
is no easy thing!!! Matterhorn killed them in New York and felt he could do it again on
Jamaican soil! Rodigan defeated Odyssey in Florida last year so this is a rematch!!
Crown did a no show on Odyssey in 1999 so now they will finally meet up!!! Did the One

*RUMOURS OF WARS (JA) <Part one of Irish & Chin Promotions
(producers of WORLD CLASH) Easter Rampage took place at the Yamhouse in Wait-A-Bit,
Trelawny and it was all out warfare... The line up included Killamanjaro (WORLD CLASH
2000 and LAST MAN STANDING 200 Champion), Black Kat (off a fresh win from GLOBAL
CUP CLASH 2001), Mighty Crown (attemping to bolster their resume' this year with more
clashes), and Matterhorn (with a lot to prove after disappointing finishes back to back in
New York).. Needless to say things got raw and dirty, and in the end only one sound came

veteran match-up of big caliber tunes, exclusive dubplates, and unattainable specials!!
Both have been in the business for over twenty years strong and both have contributed
greatly to the promulgation of reggae music worldwide! They clashed 3 times in the 1980s
(once on the radio, once in Jamaica and once in Brooklyn, New York) and they made history

Rodigan vs Poison Dart (FLA) <On Thanksgiving Day, Rodigan made an appearance at
the Metro Skating Rink in Orlando, Florida to go up against Florida's #1 sound
killer - Poison Dart w/ Kirky C, Redman, and the Crew. The dance started out wicked
as both sounds rinsed wicked dubs that buss the crowd. But when Poison Dart
brandished a spliced intro featuring David Rodigan's own voice in an interview with a gay
TV personality admitting that he "goes both ways", Rodigan gets furious and goes
into "Kill Sound Mode". From then on it was all out war and Rodigan ends

Festos from UK clash w/ dubs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s! Downbeat
eliminated Coxsone with a Marcia Griffiths dub rendition of her hit song: "Feel Like
Jumping" - the biggest dub of the night! Coxsone, however, refused to bow, and

Its a big bashment at Three Mile as both sounds mash up the place in the juggling
segment while the rude bwoys and girls dance and pose off. But the heat starts when
the Warlord Bounty Killa comes on stage and mashes up the place with tracks off his album

King Addies vs Black Kat (Queens) <The long awaited rematch between Baby Face and the Panther
came to pass in Q-Club (the new clash center of NY) in Queens, New York. Baby Face
had a lot to prove to his hometown, and Panther, well he was just there to KILL!!
Both are dressed in camaflauge outfits and both are ready fi war! Watch as the
crowd shout out forwards and beat down the place when wicked dubs are played! Then
watch as certain sounds get booed when the selection of dubs is not up to par! Many
say its 50-50. Some say that Face used "bad man" tactics to bully Panther into

Bass Odyssey vs Bodyguard (NJ) <Two warheads with no behavior buck up in Paterson, New Jersey
with one intention and that is to kill..Bass Odyssey mashup di place during the juggling
rounds and beat up all over Bodyguard with new tunes galore!! Bodyguard came back
wicked in the dub fi dub and started drowning Bass Odyssey in vintage tunes!! Both
Squingy and Lynx were jumping on top of the tables driving the crowd wild with their
antics and its all on the video, including the entire Dub fi Dub!! Some way it was a
split.. some say it was Odyssey's dance all the way.. some say Bodyguard made a wicked

King Addies vs Travellers (Wash) <King Addies continues its clash tour and had a lot to settle
with Travellers after the clash in England earlier in the year so dem buck in at the
Dragon Center in Washington to have it out! Local sound Zone One does the early
juggling, but from the coin toss it was pure war! King Addies with new recruit Neil
Diamond alongside Baby Face drop some wicked hip-hop dubs and big foundation dubs (like
the ones Danny Dread use to play) including some Tenor Saw, Nitty Gritty, and the likes!
Travellers w/ Jigsy Killa and Master Lee put up a good fight but were
convinced the crowd was bias and gave up the trophy to King Addies (who won the clash),
only to have Baby Face give it back to Travellers!! Then a wicked Dub-fi-Dub ensues

(JA) <Well is the Killing Fields in Bodyguard's backyard
when Stone Love and Metromedia come to Clarendon for the first time. Stone Love w/
Slaughter, Nico Bam Bam, Bill Cosby, and Swamp Thing have been itching to lock off
Bodyguard since Guard have been killing sounds round and about the place. Lynx and
Johnny have another outcome in mind, which is to lock off Stone Love and shame Nico and
Slaughter. Skyjuice gets caught in the middle but defends his own!! But the dance
really get nice when the police come to lock of the sound and get caught up in the vibes

(Bklyn) <The Kat has been busy lately killing sounds all over Jamaica and when
they heard that Soul Supreme went to represent New York at the World Cup Sound Clash in

Supreme. Of course Soul Supreme with its deep pocket was ready to answer with an
array of new Bounty Killa dubs. The Kat had new tunes too, but more importantly, the
Kat done have a wide dub box filled with vintage dubs. The video tape captures the

Killamanjaro vs David Rodigan Rematch
in England (England) <After the Controversial clash in Long Island, New York
where the world was split 50/50, Rodigan and Killamanjaro decided the clash wasn't
finished so they agreed to clash again in 3 weeks time. This clash was held not in
Jamaica, or New York, but in David Rodigan's backyard, England. The video captures
everything from the first rounds to the Dub Fi Dub, straight to the end of the clash.
You can judge from the forwards in the crowd who really won this time, although the
Dub Fi Dub seemed to be 51% to 49% in favor of *%$#@!! This video is a must have for all

Master Steve of Mellow usually lets his tunes do all the talking, and when Steve unleashes
some wicked dubs including a nasty Bounty against an unexpecting Trooper, Jaro finds
itself on the offensive! To make it worst for Trooper, Lenny from Bass Odyssey was
taunting him on the side lines. But when the crowd starts to bawl for dub fi dub,
the clash starts to even out again and then its sudden death for one of the sounds!!>

feet apart, in front of all Jamaica, including all the crews: Black Roses, Junglist, TG's

(JA) <You asked for it, so I located it!!! Some say this was the biggest Clash ever!
It is definitely the Biggest Clash in recent Reggae History (late 1980s to present).
It has been mentioned in may debates and even written
about in books. This clash pits New York's #1 Sound, KING ADDIES with selectors Baby
Face and Tony "Mentally ill" Matterhorn, against Jamaica's undisputed Sound
Killa, KILLAMANJARO with Ricky Trooper, Keith and Freddy. Shot right up front
by the turntables in the heat of the war, on this video you can see both sounds dropping
lethal dubs plates right back to dub fi dub, as well as how the audience responds!
See Killamanjaro get booed and King Addies get told to "Go Home!" by the
audience. Plus see both dubs bring the place down wid some vintage dubs.
Everyone has a different opinion of what happened and who won and whether the

WORLD CUP CLASH 94 - UK (2nd)
(UK) <On March 26th, 1994, the second World Sound Clash was held at Sanctuary Milton
Keynes featuring defending sound Bodyguard from Jamaica up against Saxon from the UK,
King Addies from the USA, and Kebra Negus from the UK. Over 7000 people turned out to
witness what was then the largest sound clash in history on UK soil. Kebra Negus and
Bodyguard were eliminated and it boiled down to Saxon and King Addies, with Baby Face's
voice hoarse from the excitement! As it turned out, Saxon came out victorious although
King Addies was blatantly cheated of the victory b/c Saxon broke one of the explicit
official rules laid out at the beginning of the dub fi dub, stating that anyone playing
over a tune or even an intro will be disqualified. They played an intro that King
Addies played immediately before them! The video captures the true essence of what
it was like to be there. Now you can decide who really won! A collectors must

(UK) <In 1993, some promoters from England made history when they presented the First
Annual World Cup Sound Clash. This was the first clash of this caliber to be held in
the UK and it attracted thousands of patrons. The promoters drew from a
distinguished pool of contenders and came up with the following roster: Saxon representing
UK, Coxsone representing UK, Bodyguard representing Jamaica, and Afrique Sound Station
representing the US. Thousands of people came from all around to witness history in
the making, and that it was. After a grueling set of elimination rounds, the trophy
fight boiled down to Bodyguard and saxon.. There was a huge controversy as one of the
sounds eliminated was also the owner of the sound system used for the clash and wanted to
bann use of it.. Dramas like these made this clash indeed the first of its kind and one
